Can We Talk? - Jackson's Digital Expressions -Anything Goes #15

Text'n Trixie by Mayzy Art
Helllo Cardies!  Just a quick post to remind you of the Month Long Challenge at Jackson's Digital ExpressionsExpressions.  Some Lucky "Follower" is going to win a Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.  I own  the Cameo, Cricut, Eclips, Big Shot Pro, and Epic cutting and/or embossing machines, but my Big Shot gets the most rigorous workout, especially for embossing; it just seems to do the best job!  I actually have two Big Shots (In case they are discontinued.)  Now, that should give you some idea of the condition of my craft studio.

I did something really STUPID on this card and the first person to spot it and leave a comment telling me what I did will win Mayzy Art's Around The World Special Five Pack!

Our sponsor this week at JDE is MAYZY ART  so, if you would like a chance to win 5 fabulous images from Mayzy Art, stop by and add a project.  The challenges are ANYTHING GOES and it can be any project created between JULY 1st and August 6th.   You will also have three chances to win Robert Jackson Images.  The challenge runs until August 6, 2012.

If you love Altered Art/Objects, then you definitely want to checkout the DT Projects at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  There are some really cool ideas for back to school project posted as inspiration this week.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hugz, Chana

It's Your Birthday!

Hello, Cardies!
IMAGE BY THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE
Well, everyone is having Christmas in July challenges.  I don't celebrate Christmas and I do not  make X-mas cards.  I tried it last year because I wanted to be a team player, but my conscience got the best of me and I decided this year, I'm just not doing it.

I wanted to make a card for the challenge at Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog, because we have lost a few team members (I know what that is like).  So my compromise was to attempt to focus on what Christmas is supposed to be:  the celebration of a birth.  The very word Christmas is the truncated Catholic Christ Mass

I don't understand Christmas in July.  I was born in November and if my spouse and children celebrated my birthday in June and they chose to celebrate my birthday with  little or no mention of my name in June or November, I  would be very hurt and very disappointed.
I realize Christmas is mostly a commercial enterprise these days with very little religious significance, but to me it somehow still just seems wrong that the birthday boy gets less attention than Santa, Reindeer, and Snowflakes.  Hope I haven't offended anyone, but I have felt this way for more than thirty years.  I just don't get it!

Well, that's my social commentary for the year!

Chana

Pretty In Purple

Image - LIFE by Bugaboo Stamps
Hello, Cardies!  This week over at Jackson's Digital Expressions, our July Release Month Party Continues.  We have some wonderful designer showcasing our images and we have had some fantastic new sponsors  come on board.  The sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps.  I love myself some Stella, but this block image caught my eye and I wanted to see what I could do with it.  I am trying to avail myself of every opportunity to work with my Copics.  Isn't that Daily Junque Button (by Pink Paislee) crazy?

If you haven't entered our month long challenge at Jackson's Digital Expression, you should.  At the end of the month, we are going to award some lucky player a Sizzix Big Shot and you never know with us, we might just throw in a die or two!

Thanks for stopping by.  I will look for you in the challenge!

National Get Out Of The Doghouse Day!!!

IMAGE "PUPPY LOVE"  BY ROBERT JACKSON
"A Little Pup called Diggy!"
G;morning, Cardies!  This week, over at The Outlawz, The Creetings Challenge Team is celebrating National Get Out Of The Doghouse Day and The Dog Days of Summer!!  I decided to use this adorable little pooch by digi artist, Robert Jackson.  Aren't those eyes just adorable.  Coloring up the image took not time at all, deciding which dps to use took forever.  I have a ton of doggy print paper, but that was too obvious, and, I wanted to keep the dps neutral in case I wanted to give this card to a male co-worker or friend!  You should check out all the wonderful creations from my teammates.  I know we are going are going to get some really awesome cards in the challenge this week!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugz,
Chana!

I plan to submit this card to the following challenges

JDE Challenge #12 - A Day For Daises

IMAGE BY A DAY FOR DAISIES
Hi, Cardies!  This very CAS design is my DT Inspiration for this week's "Anything Goes " Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  We are still having a party at JDE and there are chances to win free images from some of the best digi stores.  Make a note to drop by.  Our challenge runs until August 6th and you can enter as often as you wish.

In addition to our July Release, we are introducing our new sponsors AND our new DT members.  We have some super talented ladies who have joined our team and we are taking this time to introduce them and JUST SHOW OFF!  If you want to join us, you can also try your hand at our optional Color Challenge using the colors from this inspiration photo.

I chose "Ballet Slippers" because I think it is more challenging to create interest on a project using a small single image.  I wasn't so sure about my little art piece until I distressed the edges and inked it with Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I tied using the optional challenge colors, but the just didn't work for this image!

You guys know that I rarely like my own projects, but this one I liked.  Stop by Jackson's Digital Expressions and see the great creations from my Teammates!

Big Hugz,
Chana

Summer Fun - Blog Hop - Digi Darla Stamps

IMAGE BY DIGI DARLA STAMPS

Hi, welcome!  If you came here from  FranCine, then you are in the right place.  If you came from any other blog, then please go back to Jackson's Digital Expressions and start from there.  For this three day hop, we are continuing our July Release Celebratioun and welcoming our newest sponsor, Digi Darla Stamps.

This year, the world gets to witness the best summer fun of all - The Olympic games in London.  I was a volunteer for the 1996 games here in Atlanta and I can tell you there is nothing that comes even close to being a part of an Olympiad.  Our entire city was transformed; and it was wonderful to watch the Torch as it made its way to Olympic Stadium, and to rub elbows with Olympic greats like Edwin Moses and Michael Johnson.  The United States Women won the team Gold in Gymnastics right here in Atlanta and I was there to see it!  And, as if that were not enough, literally thousands of people decided to make Atlanta, Georgia their home after coming here as visitors for the Olympics.

The Olympics are about overcoming obstacles and our sponsor, Digi Darla knows all about overcoming and pressing forward:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DigiDarla is the brain child of Kim Eskola and her daughter Emilea.
Emilea and I both enjoy creating and when the idea of creating digital stamps came up, it sounded like the most wonderful way to earn ever! There was only one problem! We are both shy and dislike the center of attention! As a way of "hiding behind the scenes" and avoiding having one spokeswoman,
DigiDarla was born!
Working with Emilea on this project has been a wonderful blessing and has stretched both of us. Emilea is a busy teen with her passion for art and training our 2 horses, piano and violin lessons, and squeezing in high school classes somewhere in between! She is also the oldest daughter in a family of 11!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can win this image by answering the following question:  Who was the first athlete to ever score a perfect 10 in Olympic Gymnastics and who was her coach?  Leave a comment and include your answer.

Release Party - Jackson's Digital Expressions

Please click  HERE for current challenge!

JOIN US FOR OUR JULY RELEASE PARTY

IMAGE BY ROBERT JACKSON

I absolutely love this image!  As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be the first image from this release group that I would use in a project.  Our challenge this week: Anything Goes "A Rose By Any Other Name - Optional Twist: Use Any Flower But A Rose" also gave me an opportunity to use another one of my handmade flowers and some really cool background paper.  This image reminds me of Macedonia PB Church, the place where I grew up and where I always knew that I was loved.  Of course, the original building, that looked a lot like this image, was torn down and a beautiful new building was erected to accomdate the growing congregation.  But when I see little country churches like this, I always think "You Are Loved!"  Thanks, Robert for bringing back some sweet memories.

You could win this release!!!
